This trip was on 09-10 September 2017. Only 1 night but it was a very fruitful trip. I managed to photograph a few new species which is not in my photo collection yet. This is the reason I said that this trip was a very fruitful.
Before proceed to our main destination, we decided to stop by in Ranau for breakfast and buying essential goods.
We proceeded to our main destination by afternoon. Walking about 2 Kilometers. I saw some butterflies near small stream and puddle but I did not managed to get any shot.
We started our night macro after simple dinner. Our night walk accompanied by a couple from England who asked to join us. At least they spotted a Metaphrynella sundana (Tree Hole Narrow-mouthed Frog) for us.
Another glory on the next morning;

Prosotas pia pia (Margined Lineblue)
Vindula erota montana (Cruiser)
Prosotas bhutea tambunanensis (Bhutia Lineblue)
Bassarona dunya (Pearl’s Necklace)
Ixias pyrene undatus (Yellow Orange Tip)
Idea stolli virgo (The Common Tree Nymph)
Pithecops corvus (Black Eyed Midget)
MB : 2nd trips
This is our 2nd trips to MB. It was 3 days and 2 nights camping in the area (29-31 of July 2016). I concluded this was a fruitful trip compared to our previous trip in 2015 (17-19 April 2015). We are encountered more butterflies than beetles, amphibians and other animals. You can view my post of the previous trip here.
We are being informed by the staff of MB that a group of elephant is around the area and we are advised to take early precaution for safety. Were are also being informed that those elephant are not dangerous by the way.
Along the way from the main entrance, we drop by and stop our vehicles (1 Landcruiser 80 and 1 Hilux) to photograph butterflies again and again. The road condition (no pavement yet) are getting better except for motorcars. Only a few points of the road got muddy. A standard 4×4 vehicle should have no problem to get through.
So, lets the following photos continue the history of our findings:
